Four of Five volumes (lacking volume four), in original full tree calf quarto volumes with raised bands and labels on spines. Variably scuffed and other minor wear. Some internal markings on end papers. Variably foxed and toned (more noticeably involving front and rear leaves of volumes two and three). Bindings tight. Joints and hinges solid.

 

A popular and useful commentary from the early 19th century which was reprinted multiple times. A married set, ours lacking volume four (which is not particularly difficult to acquire as an orphan volume) of three volumes from 1857 being the complete Old Testament with commentary, and one New Testament volume from 1839.
