Full brown leather with repairs (corners; rebacked). Boards scuffed, leather losses along edges. Marbled end papers with book plate (Hira Rockwell Bennett) on front pastedown. Old tape repair to front pastedown near bottom of hinge. Historiated title page. Paper repair of 6 inch tear to S8. Some damp stains at top of prelim leaves. A few gutter stains, mostly in signature B. Bottom corner of q2 torn off. Scattered pencil marginalia and early-hand ink marginalia and manicules. Variable foxing and toning but mostly bright. Most toned in Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes. Decorative capitals throughout. Copiously illustrated Old Testament. Binding tight. Joints/hinges repaired and strong.
