Full brown leather boards, rebacked. Corner's bumped, leather scuffed near edges. Shelf wear. Spatter stain at foot of spine. New end papers. 18th century owner's inscription on title page. No frontis. Preface page with tattered fore edge. A few minor marginal stains plus a still-visible tide mark despite being a washed copy. Bright. Binding tight. xxxvi, 452.

 

First issued in 1737, this is a printing of the prologue and Knights Tale, with language updated, from the Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.
