Frick, Diseases of the Eye, 1823

Plain bluish-grey boards (likely original) with grey paper spine. Boards scuffed and stained. Corners bumped. Hinges reinforced. Remnants of a bookplate on verso of ffep. Half title torn with loss of top third. Plate complete but torn along one fold. Minimal foxing, otherwise clean, bright, and tight throughout. Untrimmed margins.

George Frick (1793-1870). G-M 5844: “First American textbook of ophthalmology by the first American who is believed to have restricted his practice to diseases of the eye. Frick studied under Georg Beer in Vienna.”
