Modern full brown leather with raised bands, red title label, and gold text on spine. Blind rolls at edges of boards. A few minor scuffs and scratches. New end papers. Joints/hinges intact. 18th century owner’s names and doodles on blank recto of frontis (similar 17th century notations on blank recto of plate preceding pg 179). Mildly toned with a few scatted smudges. Modern pencil underlining and notations in first 26 pages. Corners a bit thumbed, with loss at bottom corner of title page, pgs 1/2 and 43/44 of Meditations (not involving text). Margins well retained. Binding tight throughout. Imitation of Christ is compete, but Meditations at the end is incomplete. 

 

Two new blanks, Frontis, title, (10), 339, , (2), 44, two new blanks. Frontis plus four engraved plates.
