Brown cloth binding over board with black cloth on spine revealed below residual brown cloth. Blind stamped on boards “Renshaw’s Manuals.” Significant erosion of cloth on rear board. Some chipping at foredges and corners of both boards. New end papers. Text block clean, bright, and tight throughout. Complete. Measures approximately 6 ¾ x 4 ½ x 1 ½ inches. Garrison-Morton 5591 is first edition (French).
The first English edition of this popular textbook from French surgeon Joseph Francois Malgaigne. He was a popular lecturer and historian of medieval surgery.
