Quarto volume bound in full brown leather with gold text and embellishments on front board and spine. A few mild areas of slight discoloration on boards and spine, as well as a small scuff on top edge of front board. Lion pattern end papers. Blue speckled page edges. A clean, bright, and tight copy copiously illustrated with diagrams, and photographs (color and black and white), as well as apparently original artwork. Set in black and blue type with wide margins and scattered blue ink figures. Inscribed in black ink on the half title, “To the remarkable Walter Garst, skilled surgeon, connoisseur, humanitarian. Your friend, D Ralph Millard Jr 1987. A very good copy inscribed by the author.

The Millard technique is a method of bilateral cleft lip repair.
