Octavo in original half brown leather with marbled paper over boards and red title label on spine, with gold bands and text. Mild shelf wear. Hinges strong. Ex library book plate on front paste down. Library stamp on title and several other leaves. Early owner’s name penned on ffep. Early penciled notes on first rear blank, and in rare margins. Some toning and foxing. Binding tight.

He was born in Minorca, studied at Valencia, Barcelona, and Paris, and was one of the founders of the Academie de Medecine. He was a popular teacher, and is particularly remembered for his writings on toxicology.”
