Two volumes folio in contemporary full brown leather. Boards a bit scuffed, some splitting of leather at edges. Spines crumbling and with significant loss on vol 2. Some foci of leather repair. Hinges/joints previously repaired. Bindings starting to crack in a few places but cords holding. Prior dealer’s notes penciled on ffep of vol 1. End papers a bit wrinkled. Vol 1 with scattered mostly mild toning (though more than mild from 4A to end). Scattered stains (Yy seems to have the most stains). Some foxing. Ddd with ½ inch tear to lower aspect of fore edge margin. Vol 2 with scattered mostly mild toning, foxing, and some stains. Decorative vignettes on titles and vol 1 dedication leaf. Decorative tailpieces. 
 
Please note that the collation of this set is a bit complex. For example, there is no signature “a” preceding “b” in vol 1, unless the title and ensuing leaf (I have labeled as “__” below) are assumed to be “a” which would seem valid except in vol 2 the title and ensuing leaf are followed by “a.” Regardless, both volumes are complete. Furthermore, per the list of plates in the prelims of vol 1, plate 33 was never issued, as it is passed over in the list (and is indeed not present), while plate 76 is also not included in the list, but is actually present.

Total: 1 engraved dedication page, 13 maps (6 folding), 165 plates (7 folding). 
 
Note: There is some subjectivity to labeling plates vs maps as some leaves contain both; and many are designated “plans.”
