Folio in modern full brown leather with raised bands and title label on spine. Ruled in blind. A few small scrapes on spine and boards. New end papers. Marbled page edges. Marginal paper repair to bottom of half title, fore-edge of first leaf of prelims and leaf t i (penciled scribbles on that same leaf). Rare small marginal tears. Focal worming. Mostly bright, though a few scattered stains (only rare leaves significantly affected, mostly at the rear). Scattered sparse pencil marginalia, mostly documenting dates, but also occasionally correcting the text. Margins are well retained, and leaves are mostly bright. Binding tight. Set in two columns using blackletter and Roman fonts.

The Synod of Dort was held in Dorecht in 1618 and 1619, and was convened by the Dutch Reformed Church to address the subject of Arminianism (which it rejected). From it came the Canons of Dort.
