Myo-Graphie Ou Description Des Muscles Du Corps Humain. Par M. Tarin, Medecin. A Paris, Chez Briasson, Libraire, rue S. Jacques, a la Science. Avec Approbation et Privilege du Roi. 1753. 

 

Original full mottled brown leather over boards with raised bands, gold fleurons, and title label on spine. Leather variably scuffed and chipped. Corners exposed. Joints cracking at head and tail. Red page edges. Green ribbon page marker, Marbled end papers. Hinges intact. Tab XXII and XXVI toned, all else exceptionally clean, bright, and tight throughout with minimal foxing.

Pierre Tarin (1725 – 1761). The work contains engraved copies of Albinus’ plates (as does his Osteographe also of 1753). He also published in 1750 the first pictorial history of neuroanatomy (see G-M 6950). See also Heirs 604 for Tarin’s osteographie and Dictionnaire anatomique.
