Bound in original full leather with green boards and brown spine. Blind stamped at edges of boards. Gold text on spine. Leather chipped at top edge of spine. Marbled end papers. First fly leaf starting. Appears a book plate was removed from front pastedown at some point. Green ribbon present. 1835 Parisian owner’s writing on second fly leaf. Text block clean, bright, and tight throughout. Measures approximately 6 ¼ x 4 x 1 3/8 inches. Garrison-Morton 5591. 
First edition of a well-received textbook from a celebrated lecturer. This book was translated into multiple languages. Malgaigne was also a historian of medieval surgery.
